Comprehensive Privacy & Transparency Policy
Effective Date: 1/14/2026
Welcome to PubliChat.xyz. This policy outlines our commitment to user privacy in the context of a fully decentralized, blockchain-based application. Unlike traditional web applications, we do not maintain centralized databases that store your personal communications. Instead, our Service acts as an interface to the Linea Blockchain.
1. Core Philosophy: Decentralization & Data Minimization
Our architecture is built on the principle of "Trustlessness." We do not require you to trust us with your data because we do not possess it. We do not collect emails, passwords, phone numbers, or track your physical location. Your identity on PubliChat is defined solely by your cryptographic Wallet Address.
2. Information Publicly Recorded on the Blockchain
By using the PubliChat Service, you are interacting directly with a Smart Contract on the Linea network. The following data is automatically recorded on the public ledger:
- Public Wallet Address: Your Ethereum-compatible address (e.g., 0x123...) is permanently linked to every message you send. This serves as your pseudonym.
- Message Content: The text body of your messages is stored on-chain. This content is public, readable by anyone in the world, and uncensorable.
- Transaction Metadata: Technical details such as the timestamp, gas fees paid, and the block number are publicly viewable.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
To ensure maximum privacy regarding your physical identity, PubliChat.xyz:
- Does not use tracking cookies or pixels.
- Does not store IP addresses on our interface servers.
- Does not have access to your private keys or wallet recovery phrases.
4. The Immutability of Data (Important Warning)
Blockchain Data Cannot Be Deleted
Please be aware that due to the immutable nature of blockchain technology, the "Right to Erasure" or "Right to be Forgotten" is technically impossible to execute. Once a message is confirmed on the Linea blockchain, we cannot delete, edit, or hide it. It exists permanently on the decentralized network.
Do not share sensitive personal information (PII), financial secrets, or private data in your messages.
5. Third-Party Interactions
To use our Service, you interact with third-party infrastructure over which we have no control:
- Wallet Providers: (e.g., MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet). Your wallet provider may collect data according to their own privacy policies.
- RPC Providers: Your wallet connects to nodes (RPCs) to broadcast transactions. These nodes may see your IP address when you send a message.
- Block Explorers: Services like Etherscan or Lineascan index and display the data generated by your interactions.
6. Security and User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the security of your private keys. PubliChat.xyz cannot recover access to your wallet if you lose your keys, nor can we reverse transactions signed by your wallet. We strongly advise using best practices for Web3 security.
7. Changes to Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in decentralized technology or legal requirements. Since we do not collect email addresses, we cannot send notifications. Users are encouraged to check this page periodically.
8. Contact & Smart Contract Verification
For transparency, our Smart Contract source code is verified on the Linea block explorer. If you have questions regarding this policy, please reach out:
